Start blogging.

Blogging is one of the most popular methods people use to create a stream of income. However, be warned that it requires a lot of time and work, and you must be committed to it in order to reap the rewards. Before you decide to go this route, do your research to figure out what you’d blog about, how to drive traffic to your blog, and how to keep your audience interested in what you have to say.

Pitch articles.

Write articles on a range of topics you have considerable knowledge in and pitch them to various publications. Even if you may not be exceptionally educated in a particular subject area, brainstorm ideas and write interesting articles that will pique the curiosity of publications you pitch them to.

Utilize social media.

Many social sites, including Facebook and Twitter offer users a way to use their sites make money. Do your research on their methods and requirements to determine if this is something you could do to generate revenue.

Offer freelance services.

Do you have skills such as data entry, social media, writing or others that you could provide in exchange for a fee? Make a list of all the skills you possess and highlight the ones you’re best at performing. Providing freelance services is an excellent way to generate income, as well as lead to referrals and other job opportunities.

Enter writing contests.

If you’re an aspiring or freelance writer, entering writing contests is a great route for seeking publication for your works, as well as possibly winning competition prizes. While many contests charge entry fees, thoroughly research their requirements and rewards to figure out which one is more cost-effective for you.

Provide online courses.

In today’s world many people are turning to the internet for continuous education. As getting online is easier and more convenient than leaving home to get to a school’s campus, package your knowledge and expertise in your subject area into various forms of online training that others can benefit from.

Write a book.

Many aspiring authors are taking the leap of faith and writing their books. And as a bonus, traditional publishing is not the only means of getting a book into the marketplace. If you’ve always wanted to write a book, why not do it and self-publish your work? Bear in mind that like blogging, writing a book takes a lot of work. However, if you do decide to embark on this journey you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment when your book is completed, published and readers begin purchasing it.
